Select this service to send in your original Xbox console and have it refurbished and restored. The service can be used as preventative maintenance, for fault-finding and repair, or even for systems that show no sign of life when powered on.
It includes a full mainboard maintenance process and hard-mod installation as part of a complete all-in-one service.
Once completed, your system will be configured to run Cerbios v3.1 (current version). This unlocks advanced functionality such as homebrew software support, enhanced storage options up to 16TB, support for CCI compressed and ISO game formats, custom boot animations, and integrated system recovery features.
Each system is carefully handled, refurbished, and thoroughly tested on the bench to ensure long-term stability and consistent performance before being returned to you.
What is included
- Full inspection and cleaning of the motherboard
- ESD-safe compressed air dust removal
- Replacement of aging and often troublesome 1500/3300uF capacitors
- Removal of the clock capacitor (models v1.0 – v1.4)
- Replacement of the clock capacitor (models v1.6)
- Complete removal of aged thermal pads from chips and heatsinks
- Application of Arctic MX-4 thermal compound
- Replacement of the aging DVD drive belt
- Inspection and repair of common trace rot issues on older models where needed
- Inspection and repair of v1.6 power surge transistor damage where applicable
- All actions required for the hard-mod installation and hard disk configuration
- Installation using onboard TSOP, Xyclops, or dedicated modchip depending on system revision
- Installation and configuration of Cerbios v3.1 (current version)
- Preparation of the hard disk for boot functionality and system recovery menu support
- Hard disk unlock, allowing it to be read and written externally if desired
- EEPROM and hard disk backup (can be provided digitally)
- Full system testing on the bench prior to return
- Verification of stable operation and consistent performance
Note: Ad-hoc light repairs, if identified during inspection, will be carried out where required, including tasks such as reflowing weak or loose connector solder joints, replacing missing screws, or reapplying rubber foot adhesive.

This service is offered in two pricing categories, depending on your Xbox motherboard revision and the type of hard-mod installation required as part of the maintenance process:
Variant A – 49.99 EUR
Applicable to systems that can be hard-modded using onboard TSOP or Xyclops flashing methods
- Mainboard revisions v1.0 – v1.4 – all models (TSOP flash)
- Mainboard revision v1.6 – models with the A-A02 Xyclops chip (XycloMod flash)
- Systems that are already hard-modded, for updating existing TSOP, XycloMod, or modchip to Cerbios v3.1
Variant B – 64.99 EUR
Applicable to systems that require a dedicated modchip installation
- Mainboard revision v1.6 – models with the A-B01 Xyclops chip
- Includes modchip installation
- Includes LPC rebuild
Note: You do not need to know your exact motherboard revision before sending in your console. If you are unsure or prefer not to open your Xbox, simply select Variant B by default. Once your system has been received and inspected on the workbench, we will confirm the correct variant and adjust the final price accordingly.
Fixed maximum cost promise
Even fully non-working systems can be sent in for this service. The total cost will remain limited to the selected service price (depending on variant), with a maximum additional 10 EUR fee for a replacement mainboard and a maximum additional 10 EUR fee for a replacement power supply if required. This keeps pricing predictable while still allowing restoration of heavily faulty or non-booting consoles where possible.
What Is Not Included
- Additional time-consuming repair work beyond light ad-hoc fixes identified during inspection
- DVD drive repairs beyond ESD cleaning and belt replacement (DVD recapping is available as a separate service)
- Custom hard disk work beyond a standard installation (available as a separate service)
- Physical storage media for EEPROM or hard disk backups (can be sent digitally)
- Any game files, game discs, ISOs or ROMs
- Warranty coverage for wear-and-tear components such as the DVD drive or power supply
Replacement mainboard policy – EUR 10,00
For cases where a mainboard is found to require extensive additional repairs (and is deemed beyond economical repair during inspection), we will contact you to offer a replacement mainboard for a low flat fee of just 10 EUR.
Replacement power supply policy – EUR 10,00
For cases where a power supply is found to require extensive additional repairs (and is deemed beyond economical repair during inspection), we will contact you to offer a replacement power supply for a low flat fee of just 10 EUR.
This keeps costs low and fair, and allows systems with heavily damaged, corroded, or even non-working mainboards and/or power supplies to still be restored using a replacement unit from our available stock.
Shipping options – Full console or mainboard only
You may choose to send in either your complete Xbox console or only the mainboard and hard disk. This is entirely up to you and makes no difference to the service we provide.
The advantage of sending only the mainboard and hard disk is reduced shipping weight and size. Most postal services have a 5KG cutoff for lower shipping rates, and a fully packaged Xbox with sufficient protective bubble wrap and a strong shipping box will typically exceed this threshold. For customers who prefer a more compact and cost-efficient shipping option, sending only the mainboard and hard disk is often the easiest choice. In either case, the same care, service process, and return standards apply.
Note: You do not need to include any cables, controllers, test games, or accessories, as these are not required for the service. We have all required equipment and test materials on hand.
Shipping to us
After your purchase and payment, you are responsible for shipping your system or mainboard to us using safe and secure packaging. You will receive an email with our shipping details, and a reminder to make sure your unit arrives safely in our workshop. The cost of shipping your system to us is not included in the service price.
Shipping from us back to you
Return shipments to customers are not included in the service price. Our shipping page provides a good estimate of general shipping costs across Europe. We always confirm openly with each customer and calculate final shipping fairly, based on their preferences and approval before sending.
